马来西亚福音联谊会(NECF)推动全国教会为国禁食祷告四十日运动。各人可以不同形式禁食，也有手册提供代祷内容。四十天后就是国家独立日。因此这四十天特别要为国家代祷。同时，也是教会与信徒检讨并重建自己灵命的机会。
